House of Moxa is driven by the vision to create timeless and distinct silhouettes that cut across all generations. Their designs are traditional yet contemporary, minimal yet versatile. They predominantly design garments using handwoven Kala cotton that is dyed using eco-friendly dyes.
Purpose
The name Moxa is derived from the word 'Moksha' which means liberation from the web of Maya, the cycles of Birth and Death, and, experiences of bliss. The meaning of 'MOXA’ emerges and closely translates to one's purpose in life. At House of Moxa, their purpose is to give back to society through sustainability goals to impact the lives of many artisans.
People
Sustainability has been at the core of the House of Moxa. Started by a woman entrepreneur, the brand has women leading all areas, be it designing or production. They are empowering clusters of weavers in multiple parts of the country who help them by weaving the perfect fabric for their garments. They are also providing consistent livelihood to artisans who have been directly involved in making the garments.
Planet
Their focus is to make products that are eco-friendly, long-lasting, and they also follow processes that help them achieve their zero wastage targets. They have adopted a made-to-order approach to ensure zero wastage of garments. House of Moxa garments are made using Kala cotton, Jamdani, and other handspun, handwoven fabrics that are not only eco-friendly but also long-lasting. Predominantly, they have used Kala cotton in their collections which is the most sustainable form of cotton. They use fabrics dyed using either natural dyes or Azo-free dyes only.
