Purpose
Standing on three things - the local handcraft, mindful details & finishing, and a timeless global appeal, each piece from the collection is unique. The primary focus is on reviving, re-designing, and adding value to the discarded textiles or garments, by using local craft techniques of natural dyeing and hand embroidery.
People
Works with the people of Bagru, a small town near Jaipur where all the textiles are slowly created with natural dyes and mud-for resist hand block printing. In this quest to be socially aware and to be a conscious maker-user, they associated themselves with the Chippa community of Bagru.
Planet
Realizing the alarming rate at which water gets polluted due to the toxic chemical water from dyes, they started seeking an alternative for dyeing and printing that could be environmentally friendly. They’ve adopted a slow process that results in a beautiful sustainable natural unique handcrafted textile that is made from earth. They work on a classic color palette of Beige that is derived from Harda, a medicinal fruit commonly found in India, True Indigo blue from the Indigo plant, and grey from Kasis bhasma which is also used in Indian Ayurveda.
