Prashanti Foundation, an environmentally conscious company, produces artisanal products crafted by individuals with disabilities. The foundation empowers differently abled people by providing them access to occupational training, financial assistance, and health care, giving them the chance to establish healthy routines, pick up new skills, and make money from their employment.
Purpose
Chetana, a project of Prashanti Foundation, has been dedicated to assisting individuals with disabilities for the past 14 years. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including daycare, vocational training, economic support, and psycho-social assistance. Moreover, the organization provides essential counselling and guidance to families, aiding them in coping with the challenges posed by societal stigmas surrounding disabilities. Through the establishment of a nurturing and secure environment, Prashanti Foundation endeavors to enhance the physical, psychological, and social well-being of these individuals, ultimately fostering a life of significance and dignity for them. This Foundation stands out with its distinctive approach, as it actively works towards ensuring the economic independence of individuals with disabilities. All the products available are crafted by these individuals, who receive training and support at Chetana to hone their skills.
People
Presently, Prashanti Foundation is providing counselling, care, training, and empowerment to 25 individuals with various disabilities, enabling them to lead dignified lives. At the Occupational Rehabilitation Centre, each person is given the chance to acquire skills that align with their functional abilities. Engaging in regular work and social interactions fosters a structured routine, positively impacting their physical and psychological well-being.
Planet
This foundation actively supports planet protection by promoting the utilization of Banana fiber products, which involve incorporating Textile and Banana fiber in their production process. The adoption of handloom fabric and paper also reinforces their commitment to eco-friendly practices. Among the wide range of products offered, including containers, home décor, watches, stationery, and food items, sustainability and transparency take precedence. Furthermore, the foundation is dedicated to empowering disabled individuals through responsible and handmade manufacturing methods, fostering a positive impact on society.
