Samuday Crafts is a rural artisan brand that focuses on developing a forward linkage platform and a medium for artists and craftsperson’s to interact with customers and sell directly to them. They are being promoted by a registered society called Samuday Shakti Sewa Samiti.
Purpose
The vision is to ensure market linkages of the handicrafts curated by rural artisans, through building multiple marketing channels. Their major objectives is to revive crafts by providing employment and training opportunities to women that exhibit their talent to the world. The highlights of the training program are to develop the skills on product design and development, procurement, logistics, time management, project management and quality assurance. They have developed multiple handicraft clusters
People
They are directly impacting 500 women in the Hardoi district by providing livelihood opportunity and additional income by empowering the rural women in the district with a sense of financial security This is a comprehensive livelihood upliftment initiative where women are empowered, not only through skill development on handicrafts but also on financial literacy, design & marketing linkages.
Planet
Samuday Crafts have a collection of upcycled plastic home and work accessories such as bags, pouches, table matt, and table runners. They procure these plastic from a local vendor, transporters and voluntaries. They reuse wheat grass which is, an agricultural waste and develop a wide range of Basketry products.
