Purpose
Crafting a corner in the world of conscious consumption, the Flourish in-house collections are an attempt at bringing together all the values that define meaningful artisanal products. Created by a different designer, each collection is a novel story. A story about the local craft traditions, about a commitment to circularity, and most importantly about you.
People
Each collection brings an out-of-the-box perspective, a new story. The goal of the Flourish label is to empower the artisans to see themselves as entrepreneurs and to restore the ownership of the craft to the ones crafting it. For instance one of our collections is made using the unsold Baragaon Weaves fabric (Sarees) that accumulated during the pandemic. All the leftover scraps from this collection became the starting point for the jewelry collection made out of the katrans. The goal is to maintain such circularity by designing and using production units that focus on empowering women and other marginalized communities. Flourish has aligned itself to the mission of Ektha, a producer-owned-owned social enterprise incorporated in 2013. Producers of Ektha, as owner-members, have access to increased finance, training, social security, and more. Over 90% of the members are women.
Planet
The focus of these designs is to ensure that little to no waste ends up in landfills. The zero-waste designs extend not only to the apparel made out of unsold textiles but also to other lines like the jewelry made out of katrans that are leftover. Every last bit is utilized to responsibly create the Flourish collections.
