Suresh is a master artisan with a rich ancestral legacy. His forebears were skilled in crafting netturpettis, and he is proudly continuing this tradition today.He operates from a workshop located in the backyard of his home and has mentored around five artisans in this craft. The Netturpeti is more than a handcrafted jewelry box; it is a living testament to Kerala’s artistic soul, passed down through generations of skilled artisans. Netturpeti is a traditional wooden jewelry box from Kerala, known for its intricate craftsmanship and rich heritage. Originally used by aristocratic families and temples, it is handcrafted from Kumbal wood or rosewood, with brass embellishments and decorative carvings. Inspired by the architecture of Kerala temples, Netturpeti features a distinct pyramid-shaped lid and meticulous metalwork.
