The brand is a small initiative to revive the traditional forms of terracotta while acknowledging the unflinching efforts of the Indian potters to keep this tradition alive. Pottery is a collective process, involving generations of craftsmen dedicated to the craft. Each pot holds the impression (Sparsh /Sanskara) of the hands of the family who brings it to life. Kabbish’s objective is to support such communities of craftsmen living in remote areas by promoting the craft culture of India.
TFrom the product to packaging Kabbish carries the essence of handmade. It presents a combination of various crafts. It not only supports the community of potters who create the miniatures for jewelry but also the group of artisans who works on block print, brass, and handmade paper. The brand is responsible to provide livelihoods to the potters in Azamgarh and Nizamabad, who were otherwise struggling for daily bread. Kabbish not only helped the artisans to adapt to the innovative techniques but added a new dimension to the use of black pottery. It aspires to support more such languishing crafts in upcoming projects.
The brand does not encourage or emit any biohazard waste which might cause any health risks to the customers or to the environment. The clay pot miniatures are biodegradable and the brass fittings are 100% nickel-free with 22 Kt gold and silver plating. The packaging is designed with handmade paper making it recyclable and non-toxic for the environment.
