Based out of Udaipur and founded by 5 women, almost 7 years ago, Kamli Tribes aims to uplift and raise the socio-economic status of the women residing in the tribal belt by using their indigenous skills like hand stitching, and hand embroidery. Kamli Tribes strive to develop eco-sustainable products maintaining the best quality standards. Their products from board games, bags, and jewelry to keychains, coasters, and many more are made using either jute or wood as a base and feature different hand embroidery techniques. This group is Craftmark-certified, which is the only national certification program for genuine Indian handcrafted products, produced socially and responsibly. It is awarded by AIACA and is registered with the Trademarks Authority of India as a Business Trademark. It certifies individual craft processes as being handmade.

Purpose

They offer exclusive and functional handcrafted products such as board games for children, bags suitable for different occasions, stationery items, accessories, and jewelry, as well as everyday utility items like keychains, trays, coasters, and wooden boxes, created by skilled tribal women artisans from rural areas of Rajasthan. Each product has an easy production cycle and is handmade with eco-friendly materials like jute and wood.

People

Kamli Tribes is more than just a brand, it is an initiative of self-sustenance using local art and craft skills. Since its inception 7 years ago, Kamli Tribes has been training women in small groups across the tribal regions around Udaipur, it is their endeavor to engage the women in local crafts and skills and empower them to earn their livelihood. With 200+ women in their network, becoming proficient in the skills taught to them, this newly sought creativity fills up their livelihood beyond what money can buy. The magic of colors and thread work creates wonders about what human hands can achieve and this is also what Kamli Tribes seeks to attain.
