Paiwand Lagana“ is a local common phrase in India, which means to patch or repair. The label Paiwand is inspired by the same ideology and is an ode to a bygone culture. Launched in 2018 as a unique upcycling textile studio by Ashita Singhal, Paiwand sees beauty in bits and fragments, unwanted things in life, and believes in adding value by repurposing those forgotten pieces. They make meaningful upcycled clothing and lifestyle products out of fashion waste. Paiwand has won prestigious awards for innovation in textiles that includes EDIDA 2019, Lexus Design Award 2020, RElan Award for Excellence 2021.
