The foundation of the enterprise is Sadhna’s commitment to empowering women, both economically and socially. To make the artisan members self-sustainable and to give them access and control over the significant financial and social resource, status in their family and society.
This is an alternative livelihood program with rural and tribal women in Udaipur and Rajasmand Districts in Rajasthan. 700 trained and registered women in Sadhna’s family have bank accounts, ESI, and PF accounts. Most of their artisans are home-based workers.
All artisan members are the co-owners of the organization and the surplus is distributed back to the artisans.
Respect for the environment in materials and production techniques: Exemplified through the sustainable use of natural dyes, natural fibers, recycled materials, and the use of materials and production processes that are environmentally friendly.
