Swahlee began with a desire to create safe, ethical jobs for women in northeast India who face barriers to employment. Swahlee believes in the power of meaningful job creation to end poverty, impacting lives for generations to come.

They are creative and intentional about using all-natural fabrics that are environmentally sustainable. Many of their pieces are made using upcycled, recycled, and deadstock fabrics. They make their garments to minimize wastage. They believe that with purposeful choices and planning, those in the fashion industry can become much better stewards of the environment.
