Purpose
The foundation of the brand lies in the notion of using natural elements in products from start to finish keeping in mind the pollution caused by the fashion industry right from textile production to dyeing and disposal. Paying heed to the dying art forms and abandoned handlooms of India, they decided to bring it back to life by reviving the art. They aspire to provide a fresh perspective to nature-based clothing. The ultimate goal is to provide a livelihood to the crafting communities and to encourage them to pass on the art to their next generations in order to keep the art form alive.

People
They closely work with a weaving community run by a non-profit organization in Tamil Nadu of about 200 weavers out of which 164 are women. They believe in the notion of providing holistic support to such communities in order to sustain their livelihood as well as the craft. They also work with traditional block printing artisans who carry forward the originality of the art. For Tintory’s signature packaging, they are associated with a women community of 500 palm leaf weavers of South India who make customized high-quality reusable boxes. The motive is to widen the search for association with such artisans, boost their skill and provide them the credit they deserve.

Planet
At Tintory, they are environmentalists first and then a fashion brand. They use natural handwoven fabrics, natural dyes to dye or print clothes, and even offer a natural packaging material to ship the clothes so as to make the products eco-friendly and sustainable in and out. The goal is to be able to make fashion and nature a peaceful coexistence through this venture.
