Black handloom cotton saree with extra weft small star flowers on the pallu and a white square booties in body plain grey blouse. Extra weft is the traditional weave of Bihar, India and Baavanbuti saris are woven inserting, a spool of extrayarn known as, extra weft to the standard weft that holds the warp together to create 52 motifs for it to be called a ‘Baavanbuti sari’. This weave, as the elderly weavers inform, is nearly 300 years old.
