Grey handloom cotton saree with black and white double triangles extra weft on the pallu and black lines on the blouse border. Extra weft is the traditional weave of Bihar, India and Baavanbuti saris are woven inserting, a spool of extrayarn known as, extra weft to the standard weft that holds the warp together to create 52 motifs for it to be called a ‘Baavanbuti sari’. This weave, as the elderly weavers inform, is nearly 300 years old.
