Art Bunker, through its Brand POTLI, offers a series of Indian art & craft kits that aim to reconnect children with traditional Indian art, thereby creating awareness and expanding markets for artisan communities that depend on their art for their livelihood while helping sustain the old art forms they practice. Basic Knowledge of these art forms brought home through their DIY Educational kits creates awareness of the rich Indian Culture.
Purpose
Awareness and education of India’s craft heritage among children, in an effort to preserve Indian Cultural Heritage. In the process of achieving their vision, they create livelihood opportunities for the artisans we work with. Potli acts as a medium for traditional knowledge transfer from artisans and craft communities to the younger generation through their signature DIY kits.
People
Over the recent years, they have managed to reach out to more than 24,000 children with their handmade DIY kits. The creation of these kits involves artisans working to carve out these blocks by hand. The earnings of the Block carving clusters involved in the production have also increased significantly as Potli kits find their way to more and more children in the country.
Planet
The impact that Potli is working towards, on the planet and its younger generation is driven to forge a desire to make sustainable consumption choices as the future consumers.
Their work inspires the young generation to forge a commitment to preserve our local and national heritage and to play a role in reviving the rich heritage and cultural traditions of our country and encourage creativity in a sector that rallies on the SDGs.
