Window Seat is deeply rooted in community, driven by a vision to create meaningful livelihoods through craft. Founded by two Chartered Accountants turned creators, the brand was built to restore pride in handmade clothing while ensuring fair wages and dignified working conditions. Each shirt is the result of collaboration between designers, printers, artisans, and tailors working together under one roof. By combining mentorship from senior experts at the National Institute of Design (NID) with training for young artisans in hand-block printing and finishing, Window Seat bridges heritage with modern professionalism. Currently supporting six skilled individuals, the brand aims to empower fifty by 2030 building not just timeless garments, but a thriving ecosystem of makers who craft with purpose and pride.

Window Seat embraces a low-impact, hand-led production model designed to minimize waste and environmental strain. Each shirt is crafted through a mindful, manual process powered by “hands and fans,” not machines eliminating industrial energy use, start-up costs, and production wastage. The brand’s commitment to sustainability extends to its materials: natural fabrics, non-toxic, water-based GOTS-certified pigments, and biodegradable packaging ensure zero water discharge and a toxin-free workspace. By producing fabric only as required, Window Seat avoids excess inventory and unnecessary resource consumption. Every decision reflects logic, culture, and respect for the planet, the craft, and the people behind it. The result: garments that last longer, travel better, and leave behind a lighter footprint.
