Listed on Flourish, this brand adheres to principles of ethical manufacturing. Samoolam started in 2009 as a grassroot-based, social movement that was both inclusive and sustainable. It has been generating livelihood for economically-deprived rural women in Gaya (Bihar, India) — home to the legendary Gautama Buddha. The brand creates everyday accessories using the one-needle yarn knitting art of crochet (derived from French ‘croc’ or ‘croche’, which means ‘small hook’). The designs are inspired by nature and everyday items.

Each piece is handmade. There will be a slight variation in colour, shape and size. Thread used in this piece are hand dyed and there might be slight colour bleeding if washed. Dry them in shade if wet.
