Tsunamika: Auroville, Tamil Nadu Number of people working on karuna dolls: 24 Uma and her team started this initiative during the Tsunami post the tragedy. Later during the covid pandemic she trainder her team for Karuna akka. They were trained to make little dolls out of cloth bits, and waste from clothing manufacturing. The dolls were named karuna akka. This activity helped the women in building back their lives, earn a living, and most importantly inspired them to never lose hope.
