Description
The design draws inspiration from the veils worn by Rabari women, known as "ludi." These veils traditionally are a blend of three craft techniques: bandhani (tie and dye), weaving and Rabari embroidery, which is an everyday attire for the local women. By taking cues from the intricate tie and dye motifs found in Rabari women's veils, fresh and innovative placements are created using the technique of Kutch extraweft weaving. The material of choice is undyed, natural local sheep wool.
